High Poly Shield


It's been a while since I've updated my blog. Several months ago, I accepted the Art Director position at K20 Center. Since then, I have not had much time to work on personal art. On top of that, I packed up and moved to Raleigh, NC.

While I wanted to create a new environment (one that I already have picked out), it was more feasible to get started on a smaller prop. I really wanted to push how I render out different materials, so I chose a shield that contains smooth metal, rough metal, wood, and leather.

I'll have the bake done in the next day or two and move onto texturing from there (I'll add the smaller details like bolts in NDO2). Even though it's a small piece, it's exciting to make some progress.
